The Bad Reputation of Persuasion
Designers should be aware of what their users are doing and how they're using it. Interstitials, for example, break up a user's workflow by throwing an ad in front of your face. Persuasion has a bad reputation because it evokes swindling or pressuring to do something you don't want. The unfortunate part is just with a lot of really horrible persuasive clickbait type of things that are on reputable websites.
