The networks of trade, mobility and communication that had made the million square kilometers of the indus world a unified and relatively homogeneous space came to an end. What replaced it was an era of localization. The archaeologists who work on this period are quite open about the fact that we really do not know much about this whole period. There are a bunch of reasons for this pausity of archaeological evidence.
