You're more likely to solve problems by adding complexity rather than simplifying. There's an engineer named Lydie Kloss, who has done a lot of work on this. He wrote a whole book called subtract about this idea that humans buy nature complicate problems. We bring more to bear instead of saying, hey, can I strip things away to make it easier to manage? This seems to be true in a lot of cognitive domains as well.
