Take a super big deep breath in. You basically contract and extend your back, increasing the volume. These muscles are all involved to take the biggest, deepest breath possible. If you're doing this over a long period of time, which some people do with these respiratory conditions, they're burning a lot of energy. And again, this would lead to loss of weight or coca-kicksia.
