The History of Sanderma
The French covered Sanderma in sugar plantations and shipped thousands of slaves from West Africa to work the land. At one point, Sanderma was producing 60% of the world's coffee and 40% of the sugar consumed in France and in Britain. The average lifespan of a slave on the island was three years. Slaves would be subjected to all sorts of horrific violence, from amputations to public torture.
