If you're provisioning a bare metal machine, you pretty much always want to cram as much ram in it as you can afford for the task at hand. Left over ram then acts foul system cash which is extremely important to alleviate some of the load on your storage system. If your reeds don't have to come from the actual hard drive, even your rights get effectively accelerated because they're not stacked up waiting for dr time behind the reeds. There's one other significant advantage if you really want to talk about real quick and that's the fact that when you go to reboot a guest, any cash that was flushed off the bare metal machine gets flushed off too.
