Open primaries are one thing, but they really come to life when you put it together with rank choice voting. You can rank up to five candidates in order of your preference or you can just vote for one candidate and walk out. And the winner is the candidate who is the top choice of 50 point one % of voters - which would win in any system. If enough of us get together, we can do it. This has already happened in one state, alaska, last year. We have to just get enough people together, and then we can make these changes.
