The Propulsion of a Flight Plane
The plane was being sold for parts when it crashed into a national park. The pilot appeared to be trying to get the propeller to slow down and stop, which is what they call stall speed. Some experts think he may have been burning off every last bit of fuel in there to keep it from exploding on impact. "It just seems like a very weird grift," says co-host John Sutter.
