In the mid 1970s, a close to 300 pounds, six foot two in Chicago named Richard Dennis was trading on the floor and he was making a bloody fortune. His partner is like, no way, man. You're a savant,. you're a Nate, you're a gifted, brilliant dude. We can't make people be like you. So they made a bet. They hired around 20 people, 20 students. He nicknamed them the turtles because he had been to a turtle breeding farm in Singapore and he wanted to grow traders like they were growing turtles there.
