The Greeks Did Not Have Such Conceptual Hallucinations

The Greeks didn't have these notions of respecting the worker. It does not believe that such respect would be warranted if we take a sober view of reality but must be accounted for by a conscious gloss in reality, based on a moral fiction. At the Greeks seemed to value something higher than self-preservation and in fact see those who only live for their own preservation as decrepit, pathetic souls. And so the Greeks have such an aversion to labor, such that even the labor of creating art, this was even experienced with a sense of shame by the Greeks.
