Alexis Brawley was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD in seventh grade. The guidance counselors at her New York school scribbled out music from her schedule because they didn't have time for it. She went to the head of the school superintendent and the principal, asking them to create a zero period so that kids could still do what they were good at.
