Solar Radiation Management
Solar radiation management is stopping enough sunlight from hitting the surface of the planet to no reflecting it back into space before it hits the ground. The carbon dioxide is overloading the atmosphere, but we are countering it by reflecting some of the incoming sunlight. There's a variety of methods, all of which probably will do some good eventually, but they're not moving fast enough, and they're amazingly expensive.
