Can We See Atoms?

According to string theory, everything is made up of tiny strings. Through the vibration of these strings, you get all the particles that we know around us. So how can we test it? Is there any way to see these strings? Well, you know, people often ask the question, til we see atom, can we see atoms? And the answer is, well, not quite. Visible light is simply too big. Even gama rays, even withg rats, you cannot see strings.
