Is the Tonnage Equivalent to Olympic Lifting?
The squat an the dead lift will still be more fatiguing than the clean and jerk in the scratch. You can overtrain very quickly if you're doing squats, deadlifts, presses and benches with excessive amounts of tonnage. Olympic lifters handle a hell of a bunch of tons week. It doesn't make any sense for a power lifter because the stress is not comparable. If you try to run your tonnage up into power lifts, you will overtrain him. Won't take you very damned long to do it either.
