Bernardo Ilevi's Hope for a Left

Bernardo Ilevi's new book is called Emptious. In it, he talks about his friendship with Nicolas Sarkozy and how the former French president urged him to be a man on the left. He also says that we have to distinguish between right and left because if not there will be no politics or society any longer. The more you have debates, the more you have dividing lines, the better for democracy, rights for the simple people," writes Ilevi. "I am irreducibly a man of the left... If that expression makes you laugh, you're nothing but a buffoon"
