The Tumbling Domino Effect of Language
In 1978, Hawaiian was added to the state constitution as an official language. But almost no one could actually speak Hawaiian. Professor Larry Kimura knew taking Hawaiian as a second language in college or high school was not going to fix the problem. He says he'd been teaching Hawaiian at the university level for over a decade when he came to that conclusion. Here Kiki Kavai-ei taught them again.
