The Importance of Structure in Dog Training
Christian: Structure is telling the dog what to do. Is that good or bad? It depends. I prefer to leave my dog with choice if they can make a good one. Telling a dog in a crate just takes everything off the table. There's no structure, right? You're not here to have a conversation anymore. When you tell another what to do and you just say this is the way it's going to be, they don't have to think. So I use patterns and structure when I want to give comfort. That means the dog can have any possibility they want.
