Using Behavior Economics to Prevent Crying for Pennies on the Dollar
Behavior economics aims to use insights from academic psychology to enact social change in the wild. The idea being that we can directly target some mechanism of behavior, perhaps some causal chain or something. There's a cognitive behavior component where you have people think about what's automatically going into their consideration sets. One of the things that i love so much about it is that it's an intervention that fundamentally respects the intelligence and autonomy of the people whom you're trying to touch.
