The Buddha's Methods for Dispelling Disrupting Thoughts

The Buddha described five techniques for dispelling, distracting, or unwholesome thoughts in mind states. The first of them is using its opposite as an antidote. If ill will has arise, we can practice meta loving kindness to refocus the mind on that wholesome state. It's understanding that we all have an inner remote, and it's possible to learn how to change the channel.
