The Challenge to Atheists
Many atheists fail to apply their naturalism as well in other domains. There is a strong synergy between sentientism and those worldviews. But there's also enormous cultural pushback, even from within the atheist community. Almost every human cause problem seems to come back to either a failure of compassion or an epistemological breakdown. You need both you need a combination of a really well-grounded naturalism with compassionate scope that makes sure suffering being is excluded.
