Is Active Management Making the Market Efficient?

Professor Fama: You can't expect that activities like picking stocks are actually going to generate superior returns for you. If there were no ability to pick investments that have above normal risk adjusted returns, the distribution of outcomes looks a lot like what you'd expect by chance. So active management doesn't always make the market more efficient because people make bad bets. It takes more informed to offset the and informed more and more.
