CHAPTER

The Cambridge Spies

The story of the Cambridge spies didn't end with Kim Filby. In 1979, Margaret Thatcher revealed to the House of Commons that there was a fourth spy at the heart of the British establishment. Anthony Blunt was a close friend of the Queen Mother and head of the Royal Family's art collection. At the same time, he was working for the KGB recruiting spies for the war against capitalism. 400 files pertaining to the Cambridge spies were finally released by the National Archives in 2015. However, more than 20% of the files relating to the spies remain closed. It's unclear whether the world will ever know the full truth about one of the most embarrassing episodes in the history of theBritish establishment.
