The Risks of Overloading Your Knee With an Ultra Marathon

The younger runner, or perhaps someone with known grade two changes in their knee, the advice would be to continue to run on the basis that further running doesn't necessarily progress changes on imaging or symptoms. As long as you listen to your body, because if you say, well, I have knee pain, and I just signed up for an ultra marathon in the mountains,you may have a severe flare-up. And maybe that would be an overload for your joint. Overloading the joint may not be ideal for that progression of OA.
