I was working nights, cops coming in and talking about some of the stuff going on in the streets. I felt like law enforcement was no longer a career for me because if I wanted to help people, you had to be in a different situation where you could get to them sooner. So it wasn't a long term way to make a living and have mental health. The experience in law enforcement directly led to me becoming an educator so I could later on help young adults or children.
