Thomas Edison was no naive tinker or unworldly egghead. The wizard of Menlo Park was a savvy entrepreneur, fully aware of the commercial potential of his inventions. He never stopped being the curious, tinkering boy looking for new challenges. And later, much to the disappointment of his wives, his consuming love remained self-improvement and invention in his field.
