The Wagner Group's Impact in Syria
Wagner had gone from a small operation in the Ukraine to one with several battalions in Syria. Now they were replacing the Russian army on the front line. We have never seen any evidence of professional Russian soldiers taking part in battles as front-flying troops, as it was in Ukraine. That role in Syria fell to the Wagner Group.
