I can't think of anyone worse than Wall Street to be developing artificial intelligence. People accept that Wall Street is protected by law to keep their systems untransparent and utterly secretive. Whereas there are regular whistleblowers who leave places like Google, I don't believe advertising has been as pernicious or will be asPernicious as a lot of people say simply because of its very nature. Its very nature is, oh gee, they want to sell me something. There is an inherent limit to advertising's pernicious aspect. We could pass a 0.3% transaction tax on securities transactions. No human investor would ever notice it, but it would kill these systems that these high frequency
