What Do Philosophers Do?
In beyond good and evil, aphorism 20 nita says that our philosophies are not autonomously evolving. And so what do philosophers do? They take the example of what is near to them - their own society or historical events. And then they draw these far reaching conclusions about what people are like. But Niche's er introduction of the idea of the historical sense would leave a philosopher to recognize that those conclusions are at best provisional.
