The Great Conservatives

The author is a born capitalist in the 18th century sense of that word. He says he developed his ideas as a teenager, but they didn't come to him at a moment of revelation later in life. The Conservative party wasn't doing anything that would remotely be called Conservative or it wasn't even conserving what it had, let alone trying to return to a previous better phase. And so I started looking back and I discovered that the one leader that nobody talked about who'd led the Tory party for 15 years was Lord Liverpool.
