Spheres, Dodechedral Symmetry Groups - What Is That?
The closest packing of spheres that you could possibly get is the one that people have been using to stack fruit for centuries, so to speak. But that's also the kind of arrangement of atoms that exist in lots of kinds of crystals. And that kind of arrangement has a different symmetry group that has a dodechedral symmetry group. That corresponds to one of the paton solii maybe the octahedron or doehedron.
