The Importance of Being in the Right Place at the Right Time
James Hoyle joined Benetton in 1991 as a junior aerodynamic engineer. He was then coached by LaRouce, which many people don't know because they weren't highly successful. In 2005 he went back to Teammen's Stone and eventually became technical director at Renault F1 before joining Mercedes this year. His background is in aerospace, in aerodynamics and aerospace engineering; his father was a pilot in the Royal Air Force. And we look forward to having him come back to Mercedes after a storied career.
