The Importance of Notetaking

I don't think writing is in itself notetaking. Writing is communicating on an object, whether it's digital or analog symbols to communicate ideas. So taking is I think the combination of those symbols to form information. You can't notetake without writing but you can write without notettaking. Does that make sense? It makes sense in my head but I've never tried to explain this verbally. But when I'm notetaking, I have to be writing because I'm putting symbols on a page,. whatever that page is, analogical. The way is notetaking to you then? Notetaking is writing but with a purpose, i.e. collecting information.
