I know a lot of people will just go with the way that Americans pronounce their name. The thing about it is if your ancestors come over, oftentimes there's like standardized Romanization of certain names. One that bothers me irrationally is when people say singular tamale. It's not tamales because they don't put s's into consonant clusters.
