Marthes says meditation helps calm fight or flight in the brain. The amigdala is a huge part of anxiety, and it's like your fighter flight is triggered but there's nothing to run from. Meditation also increases gray matter which means that you can have more control over emotions. Marthes: You get these activation changes, and you get really structural anges in the brain with meditation.
