COVID - The Balkans and the Refugee Crisis
During this time of COVID the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and kind of very unexpected refugee response. I think how Europe responded is very telling of what is it that we're talking about here. There's also a very lucrative industry, bankrolled by the European Union but also the U.S., where you have nearly 50 if not more refugee camps now. And so, to think of these sites also as sites of racial capitalism in as much as race is an ingredient of how capitalism structures.
