The Battle of the HMS Victory
The Franco-Spanish line had been broken. The other ships of the southern column made for the gap, and with the Santa Ana tangled with the HMS Royal Sovereign, there was nothing the combined fleet could do to stop them. At around 1245, the HMS Victory passed through the Allied line, blasting a broadside right into the rear of the French flagship. Nelson couldn't pass up the chance to take on Admiral Villeneuve himself, not even to go after the largest ship in the world. However, as he made his final approach, he noticed one of the banners on a neighboring French ship, the Busan Tor, a special flag indicating that the commander of the fleet was on board
