The good life in stoicism has to do mostly with except. You realize that you have to place happiness in the things that are in your control. Nothing else really can write, ah, not that they don't have any value at all. If something can be used badly, then it can't a make you truly happy. The stoics never said this was easy. But t the point is to develop the kind of character that you cannot help but do otherwise.
