Oral Antibiotics in Endocarditis

The patients who discharged on their own accord without any antibiotics had the worst outcomes. We need antibiotics to treat these infections, but it's so important to provide at least anticipatory guidance to the primary team early on in the course of a patient's care. The partial oral therapy group did just as good as the full IV therapy group with about 10 days of IV therapy before the switch.
