Hadrian's Revolt in Cyrene

The end game of the jewish revolt served as a backdrop for Hadrian's decision to pull out of the east. The withdrawal struck at the heart of the roman notion that their empire would expand forever. But i think much closer to their hearts was the worship of an obscure god named terminus, who it was said jupiter himself could not move. And yet here was hadrian, a mere mortal, retreating from terminus new line, moving him backwards. I think this is really what offended the senate who were mightily offended byHadrian's decision. It was just the opening shot in his war on future military adventurism.
