The Question of Qualified Immunity in a Police Shooting
The officer will have to articulate in the consideration of whether or not qualified immunity applies in this case. It's a very high standard to be able to pierce that qualified immunity and hold someone criminally responsible for the use of an active force. Police officers are given enormous deference and leeway in assessing whether or not they felt that they were in mortal danger in that moment.
