The Paradox of the Melancholy

A friend of mine who was in love with a certain woman and suddenly dropped her like hot potato as you put it. She learned that the guy whom he thinks had the high opinion of this woman that it was really a misunderstanding. So again, there always is a gap between the two. Why am I mentioning this? Because this allows us now to return to the paradox of the melancholy. The melancholy is not the one who loses the object of desire but his desire itself.
