Are You Using a Regression Model?
In science, for the most part, everything's regression in biology and psychology. Most people have a hypothesis, and they use that hypothess to constrain their experiment. So we have to build an incoting moel, which means we essentially do something called linearized progression. We take stimulus and task data, the phamorite brain activity data, and we project it non linearly into some hypothesis relevant subspace. And then we use linear regression to fit that half of the model. When we test on the test data set, we're looking for two things: A, is this thing statistically significant? or B, how much of the variance are we explaining? Our test data
