Is Isaac Persecuting Isaac?

Moses portrays Ishmael as the son of laughter, which is a negative thing. In Romans chapter nine, Paul writes that not all who are descended from Israel belong to God because they are his offspring and not Isaac's. So I think this entire story and these correspondences that we see between Isaac and Ishmael show us that Abraham's true spiritual heirs are those who descend from him.
