The ancient greeks didn't know that the uterus was tethered in place. They just looked at symptoms and thougt m this woman here is convulsing, hallucinating. She's got a raging fever. Oh, let's have a look. So was probably the uterous and it is probably compressing against the heart. And they have really different understandings about human organs. You know, they endowed them with different characteristics. So, you know, it made sense to them. To our ears and minds, it just yet sounds like a fiction or a horomovial kind of zomby thing. But to them, this was rational nd this made sense.

A deeply embedded idea in our culture is the sexist notion that men are the “default” human, and women the unknowable “other".
