Sources tell CNN that former President Trump is planning to skip the first Republican presidential debate and instead do an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. The debate falls in the same week that Trump will turn himself in to the Fulton County jail after being indicted for a fourth time, this time in Georgia. Conservative lawyer George Conway tells Anderson Cooper if he thinks the former President skipping the debate is a good idea for his campaign and legal troubles. At least 111 people have died from the wildfires in Maui and there’s a possibility of more than 1,000 are still missing.
