The Last Pinter Island Tortoise

Lonesome George was the last Pinter Island tortoise. He died in 2012, leaving his subspecies extinct. Dr Eleanor Sterling is Director of the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation at the American Museum of Natural History. Preparing this extinct tortoise is about as big as it gets in modern taxidermy. It's a profound experience to be in the physical presence of an animal that no longer exists.
