A lot of our self worth and relationships is deter mined by our relationship with our opposite sex parent. Deep down, people would rather endure familiar pain than unfamiliar pain. By exposing yourself, youre doing the latter. When your child exposing that says, i'm going to be abandoned. And when your child, being abandon means death. So it welds abandonment and death and rejection and death together. It activates your limbic system as an adult whenever you perceive the risk of being rejected or abandoned.
