Is There a Target Audience Component in the Gospels?
We don't know for sure who the audiences of any of the gospels were like specifically, right? And scholars have kind of ebbed and flowed in terms of thinking of kind of tight knit gospel communities. I think these gospels are written to be broadly published, as balcom argues in gospel of all christians. But i do think there are distinctive groups within that, right? So it's just how the holy spirit has worked through these different like putting these pieces together in the different stories.
