i was just always fascinated by the fact that kirk hamant who's one of the best heavy metal guitars of all time was a student of joe satryani. i remember seeing that in a behind the music or something at some point and i always thought it was really interesting when i was writing this book. I think we can imbue the things that we're doing with a sort of self-importance and pomposity that makes the craft of the actual thing much more difficult, he says.
