The Future of Microbiology

The Lazarus microbe is not, it doesn't exist yet, but certainly the characterization is there. There's this stool bank fecal transplant organization that was started by people from MIT that is trying to store fecal samples for fecal transplants in the future. I don't think we know how to identify which of the samples are the ideal sample and, you know, not everything survives that freezing. So if you sample your microbiome now, even If there's nothing particularly interesting you find in your sample, then you can still have it so we'll know what was in it.
